Nowadays, you won’t find a kid without an electronic device somewhere on them. As parents, we want to make sure they aren’t seeing things they shouldn’t be, but also not have their devices hacked by malicious sites or viruses. That’s why I am so excited to have partnered with Best Buy to find out how to keep your kids safe on the internet using a new smart Firewall called CUJO.

I have to admit, setting up CUJO was supposed to be super easy. I watched the video that was suggested and plugged it all in…and got the sleepy “eyes”. I did some switching around, still nothing. Fortunately, however, the customer service was outstanding. It took awhile for us to finally figure out that I had not plugged CUJO in correctly (even though I did it exactly like the video shows) and as soon as I had it setup the right way, all systems were a go.
Once that issue was figured out, I downloaded the CUJO mobile app for Apple Store and was able to activate the device.
CUJO offers business-level security for all the devices connected to the WiFi router, as well as blazing fast speeds (1 GB Ethernet). You can setup profiles for each devices and actually PAUSE THE INTERNET. That’s right, I said pause the internet. Meaning, if someone has been on say their tablet for too long, you can stop just that device from getting internet until you decide to let them use it again. So they can’t sneak it into their room at night and go back to using it without you knowing.
Parental controls features of CUJO:
– parental controls for all devices
– time limits
– internet filter
– social media monitoring
– user profiles and settings
– alerts and reporting
– remote administration
– pause internet (my favorite part)
One of the other great benefits is not having to subscribe to any services. CUJO automagically works protecting the bad stuff. Without even realizing something happened, I received a notification on my phone tonight that a malicious website was attempted to be accessed and blocked and I didn’t have to do a thing!
I am so glad to have gotten the opportunity to protect my family from malware and spyware that can compromise our life. Having a firewall working in the background at all times makes me feel better about letting our children play on our phones/tablets without worrying they are going to access something they shouldn’t or someone attempting to steal our information while they are just trying to have fun.
