Imagine you are on a 5-hour flight with a toddler who won’t sit in his seat no matter what you do. He’s poking the person seated in front of him and you would like nothing more than to pretend he isn’t yours. The maker of ZoomKIT Portable Table and Activity System, a mom of 3, Justine Smith, recognized traveling can be stressful for kids; be it for 5 minutes or 5 hours. When you need to entertain your kids on-the-go, or just distract them for a little while, ZoomKit is here to help.
The Travel Table is made of lightweight EVA foam and fits across most car seats and also has a strap that goes around the child to keep it from slipping off their laps. It has 2 recessed compartments designed to accommodate drinks and pens/markers. While the main compartment holds the modular inserts that are included.
Eating on-the-go is a breeze with ZoomSNACK Bento Style Lunchbox. You’ll never have to worry about utensils because it has a spork attached by a tether. The one downside to this is having the spork attached to the right side. I know most kids are right-handed, but being that I am left-handed, I would like to have seen the spork attached in the middle to take into consideration handedness.
I really loved the ZoomART modular insert. It has velcro to keep the two top flaps closed and a third middle flap that is shiny, on top, to use the included dry-erase markers over and over again. I swear Ethan spent 10 minutes just writing and immediately erasing it with the included eraser. On the inside of the middle flap is a pocket full of stickers that he decided were meant for the blank dry-erase flap. And there are a few small coloring books to use the crayons on.
If you want to bring extra art supplies, or really anything that can fit, there is an empty insert that you can store your stuff in and carry along. Or don’t have any inserts and let them use their imagination.
Overall, I found ZoomKIT to be a smash hit in our cars. We have a trip planned for Disney World next month and I know it will be part of travel list. He can eat in it while containing the mess and then continue to play around with the dry-erase markers over and over and over…
The next time you are on a long trip with your kids, know that you can easily entertain your kids on-the-go with ZoomKit.
